General Preferences
- File erasing level: Select the security level for erasing data from a hard drive. Available options are Simple (1 pass), DoE (3 passes), DoD (7 passes), and Gutmann (35 passes).
- CD/DVD erasing level: Select the security level of erasing data from a rewritable optical disc. Available options are Quick and Complete.
- Warn before erasing: Display an alert dialog to warn the user about the files which are about to be erased.
- Play sounds: Play sounds when Permanent Eraser is complete.
Tip: Holding down the Option key when Permanent Eraser starts will temporarily disable the warnings for that session.
